Following an incredibly radical salvation experience, Pastor Dave has been involved in ministry for the past 35 years helping people to experience the transformational power of Jesus Christ and the amazing grace and love of God. His experience includes over 2 decades of overlapping youth and worship ministry, and 24 years as pastor of 3 churches, including one church plant for 13 years. In addition, Dave worked in the corporate world for 11 years as a Safety Engineer and Corporate Trainer, was also a Band Director for 10 years, and has done a variety of construction related, hands-on contracting as well. Pastor Dave holds a BS in Industrial Tech\Construction Tech, a Teaching Certification in Music, and Masters of Divinity with Biblical languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth. Dave met his wife Dawnda at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas. They have 5 children, 1 married, 1 in college, and 3 adopted from Russia enrolled at WWISD. They enjoy their kids sports activities, working ontheir old historic home, and hiking and exploring the National Parks -with a little hunting and fishing on the side. Dawnda has taught Home Economics at the Jr. High and High School level, and is currently teaching 2 nd grade. Early on Russ learned he not only had a love for singing but a gift as well, winning multiple singing competitions and performing in front of some very large audiences. At the age of 14 he taught himself to play the guitar, and God put within him a desire to praise Him through music. Russ came to First Whitewright in 2015, and became our Worship Leader the next year. Russ brings a very Spirit-led experience every Sunday morning offering a mix of Praise, hymns and contemporary worship songs that God uses powerfully every single Sunday in our worship experiences. ‘ Russ and Colette have 5 fantastic kids who enjoy family camping trips, fishing, and just playing with one another. They have 3 children - two boys in college and their daughter at WW high school. Joel was saved in 1973, and has been involved with ministry for most of his life in one role or another as he grew up in the Philippines with missionary parents. Joel went to Hardin Simmons in the States doing youth ministry and serving on the College BSM Board, and the Texas BSM Executive Board. He also traveled on mission trips preaching and directing music for revival meetings as well as filling pulpits on Sundays, which he continues to do. As well as preaching, Joel and Tonya have also worked with many Praise Bands in Texas and Virginia. Joel is a an amazing and tireless servant for the Lord, stepping in weekly to children’s, youth and adult related ministries. He is a gifted communicator with a joyful passion for Christ, His word, and the church! Joel has a BBA in Software Engineering and Accounting and also attended Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, with Tonya earning a BS in teaching and theology. Joel has worked for the International Mission Board of the SBC, and for the last 28 years for GE\Athena Health as a software engineer and regional manager. He and His family love to be outdoors and are active playing tennis, soccer or other activities they can be involved in. Loretta became the Facilities Caretaker in July of 2002, then took on various other ministry related duties as well. She is truly our “utility” player stepping in to fill so many roles, and help in so many different ways with her skills, knowledge and wisdom. Loretta is one of those persons that got to marry her high school sweetheart and she and Eric, after 35 years of marriage, have raised 6 kids, and are enjoying 4 grandkids! She enjoys crafting, and of course muscle-cars with many impressive examples, a lot of muscle-car knowledge, and many Power Tour trips across the US!
